Tesla, Space X, Zip2, and lest-we-forget PayPal founder Elon Musk has canceled California-based venture capitalist Stewart Alsop’s Tesla Motors Model X order after he wrote a “rude” Medium post criticizing a Tesla launch event. Alsop’s chief complaint? He had to wait too long for Elon Musk to appear—a whopping hour and a half. Ultimately, Alsop got screwed out of his promised test drive, too, which is why he’d driven almost three hours to get to the event in the first place.
Alsop writes, “I feel like I was mislead and mistreated. I had been handed a badge that would let me test drive the model, but my badge number was 1,344. If you started the event one hour and 22 minutes late, I could only imagine that having 1,343 people in front of me to test drive a Model X would have kept me there until, I don’t know, 2:00 AM.”
He was also outraged that Tesla had the gall to not even serve real food at the event!
Alsop’s post apparently struck a nerve, in fact, it struck a very specific nerve on a very specific person—Elon Musk. According to another Medium post by Alsop, after round one of haranguing Tesla (which happened way back in September), Musk called him and personally canceled his Model X order. This is when Alsop began to show a little bit of remorse, “I am mostly sorry not to be able to participate in the automobile revolution that Tesla started.” Just a little though. As far as Alsop’s concerned, Musk is still a jerk.
As for Musk? He had this to say:
Must be a slow news day if denying service to a super rude customer gets this much attention

Here at CarStory, we recommend you forego the drama and get your Tesla used.
