Buying a used car: more than you bargained for?
So you bought a new car. (OK, new to you.) That doesn’t mean the emotional roller coaster has come to an end. Even if you found the ride of your dreams, you’ve got many feels to feel after the ink on your contract is dry. Hop into your four-wheel baby, get ready for your heart and mind to go to war, and try not to screech when the squabbling ratchets up.
Here are the seven emotional stages of buying a new-to-you car:
It’s over! It’s finally, finally over! No more research, no more test drives, no more haggling. You are DONE.
Wait, yeah! You’re absolutely, positively finished! TIME TO THROW A PARTY! YIPPEE!
No, no party. This was a bad choice. Why did you spend all of this money? What did you buy this car?
You bought a car?! Are you completely insane?! You’ll be penniless and living in the streets before you know it! Noooooooo!!!
You couldn’t have done this. There’s no way you did this. You didn’t buy it. You leased it…right?
You. Are. The. Worst. And so is your car.
Um, no. You needed this car. You wanted it. Now it’s yours. The freedom!
Enjoy your new purchase!
